Internet Hodgepodge--February

I am just a wee bit excited to have half an hour to myself. I'm going to try to gather up the links to all the cool stuff I've been reading lately and that I want to remember. {Please pardon my old graphic, Saturday Stumbles is now hosted by Simply Staci.} Bring the Awesome by Oh Amanda. Truly awesome. Sadly, I tend to bring the mediocre, if I show up at all, so this spoke to me. I tried to bring the awesome yesterday when doing valentimes with my kids but, well let's call it a work-in-progress.

I'll Pray for you... no, just kidding by Mrs. Dexter introduced me to this awesome site called Echo Prayer--a genius way to fit in prayer throughout the day. I've been using Echo Prayer for about a week and I love it!

In which I share some not-at-all-original ideas by Boomama (whom I love and adore) compiles a wonderful list of recipes suitable for entertaining.

The Jane Austen music video shared by Miskellany--scenes from Jane Austen movies set to Taio Cruz. Genius editing, if you are a JA fan, you must check it out!!! (The second video she posted is kinda cute too.)

Oops, it's been several weeks since I shared some favorite posts. Here's what I've been enjoying recently: Alicia's Homemaking shared her recipe for Super-Moist Pumpkin Cake. It looks soooo good!

Simple Organized Living has a great tip and a delicious-looking recipe for cinnamon bread. Yum!

A Pirate Adventure. Love love love this idea from Oh Amanda, I want to copy it down to every detail. L is very into pirates so this would be right up his alley. :-)

Morning sickness relief from the newly pregnant Momedy. {I do not ever plan to be pregnant again, but you know the saying "men plan and God laughs." So if the Lord gives me a surprise 3rd child, I will definitely want to remember this remedy.}

I really like this budgeting bulletin board system. I need to do this to track expenses without going to a cash system.


Homeschooling is not optional. I know others have linked to this already, but I just read it myself. This is my philosophy as well--whether or not you send your child to school every day, all parents must be (one of) their kids' teacher(s).

Such an easy and cute craft, great for gifts: washcloth cupcakes.

Linky Love--July 30

Here's some of the good stuff I found this week:

I found these toddler french toast sticks from Once a Month Mom and couldn't wait to try them. I made them yesterday and both kids like them. Yea, and they're healthy too (at least more so than the Eggo waffles I typically serve)!

Feeding Four compiled two lists of ideas for playing with kids: pretend play and crafts. I need all the ideas I can get, because I'm not a "fun mom" often enough.

Oh Amanda gathered a great list of books. I'm always on the lookout for good reads!

I don't want to lose this recipe--these soft pretzels look so yummy and making them myself means no corn syrup and maybe (please, Lord) L will like them. (Oh and I got the link from Merry.)

This recipe for chocolate pound cake looks so good!
